New Eheim 2217

My new Eheim 2217 came in today. From experiance is there anything that I need to watch out for or know that the instructions might leave out?

Yeah. Don't forget it in the stand. It is so maintenance-free that I have to actively remind myself that I need to clean mine once or twice a year

Nothin' you "need to know" but since the canister does not come with media trays, get yourself some media bags to seperate the filter media. Makes the maintenance quiker.

Excellent in reliability. Large 6L media capacity for the price. Add some Ehfisubstrat Pro and you're set.

When I set mine up I put the cage on top of the media then the pad.
Oops! Just remember on top of media is pad then cage last.
Congrats. You picked the best filter ever made.

fx5 is the best for the price. The eheim just kicks total butt.
