:)hi !! I bought a snowflake moray ell yesterday. I have him in a 20 gallon tank with a decent size albino oscar and a okay sized pleco and a dragon goby. they all seem to be geting along fine for now but I am concernd that the snowflake ell isint eating I tryed feeding him some shrimp pellets the dragon goby and the pleco loves them but the snoflake ell dosent seem to want should i be concerned ?

its not eating because it is in freshwater, they are a brackish fish that usually will starve themselves to death in freshwater, ur dragon goby should also be kept in brackish

You need a larger tank for the oscar too. How big are the fish?

yeah im working on a bigger tank im looking at a 55 or a 75 gallon tank . So the goby and the snowflake are brackish hmmm that means to save my 20 just for those 2 fish when I upgrade tanks for the oscar. im gustimating that the oscar is about 5 to 6 inchs an the dragon goby is about 10 inchs he just chills on the bottom and the snowflake is about 8 inchs maybe its a baby still i just got it

oh yeah I bought a aqua clear power filter 50 for my 20 to help the exsiting cascade 100 along . Did I get a decent filter ? Im new to this hobby and I am finding that is very expensive!! but its well worth it !

you should hurry up and get a bigger tank for your oscar and pleco, and make your 20 brackish for the eel and goby. The eel and goby will not live long in freshwater, and will probably develop some sort of disease. the tank is already majorly overstocked with just the oscar. go with a 75 for the oscar and pleco, and with powerful filtration should suit them for a long time. you should buy it in the next few weeks and get it cycled for the welfare of your fish.

Snowflake is SW, not brackish!

the reasons it is not eating are:

1) it is probably getting stressed out by the oscar directly through aggression, and indirectly from all the waste it produces.

2) it is probably stressed from being imported and been in substandard conditions, including the fact that they prefer brackish or marine conditions

3) they will usually not eat shrimp pellets, especially considering you just bought the fish. Try feeding it some ghost shrimp for now, just to get it eating, then eventually wean it off that food and onto frozen krill or silversides

thanks ill have to see if my lfs hs ghost shrimp doubt he dose hes a slacker lol and the oscar dosent really pay the eel my mind i mean hes more worried bout me when i walk into the room he pases the glass like hey man feed me feeed me I want attention its like having a dog in a fish tank
