So I got a new Endli the other day probably about 5". He is settling in well to the new tank but still isn't very active. Any advice or just let him be...
Also what is their growth rate when acclimated 1" a month, 2" a month. Also what is the average size at 1 year and for life? Please and thank you in advance.

Polypterus are not very active fish as a general rule. At a year he'll be about 12-14" and then slow down their growth. Expect 24" or more as a full grown adult.

in endlis it depends on if it is CB or WC. CB will usually grow fast until the 7-11" mark then they either grow in spurts or grow slowly. The size after one year really depends on food, water quality, and care. If all of those needs are met then i'd say for WC you'd be looking at 8-9" for CB about the same maybe a little less. However genetics really is the key to most of the growth as well as CB and WC. CB nowadays usually don't get to the 18" mark. WC's can go above and beyond, but usually stay around 18"-22" (give or take). If it's CB you'd also want to make sure it's not a SB or SSB because it thats the case then neither should get past 8-10". However on both WC and CB there are those exceptions that grow monster. JA has a CB female at 19" for sale, but usually the younger they are the worse the genetics because of all the mass breeding, not saying all have bad genetics, but usually the ones that are bred in the early and late 90's will have better genes.
