My House!
So I was at the lfs yesterday, and my hubby found a pamphlet about a brand of fish food called "New Era" has anyone tried it? The store isn't getting it in until next week, so all I have right now is a pamphlet and google. Would love to hear experiences people have had with this stuff.

Thank you. :D

I use New Era, I like the consistency of the pellets.

I always liked NLS, but I'm not losing any sleep by feeding New Era; a balanced and varied diet would be the most prudent option anyway, to account for the shortcomings of New Era such as the non-existent greens/veg content.

It seems that its biggest following has always been in the UK and elsewhere across the pond , as that's where it's made. The company also fell under some financial strain and in July of this year It was sold to World Feeds, a new company backed by investment from Finance Yorkshire.

" The products of New Era have been rebranded as Vitalis Aquatic Nutrition in the UK and in export markets and will be known as Balance Aquatic Nutrition in North America".

Interesting development, I wonder if the rebrand is to differentiate it from NLS; or simple wanton change from new ownership.

I also never see NLS where I am, I think I'd be more inclined to buy it if it were more readily available over here

Sounds like they had some issues with trademark litigation in the USA, maybe ran themselves broke? Hard to say exactly what happened, but they ran out of $$$$ by the sounds of things.

I like it, i feel the soft consistency is easy for some fish to digest, especially if they have digestive problems

All dry food turns to mush in fairly short order due to gastric acids and enzymes that are produced in the gut of a fish - but increased water content does increase palatability for most fish. Unfortunately that's all it does, as water has zero nutrient content.
