Well, I had originally been looking at fostering a cockatoo to convince my boyfriend to let me adopt a large bird.
However, with the help of a good friend and some kind people who were looking to place their bird in a loving home I ended up brining this beautiful girl home.
Her name is "Bluie" she is a 15yr old very sweet Blue and Gold Macaw..
She's such a sweetheart and friendlier than I could have ever imagined a bird to be. We spent a good hour yesterday hanging out on the couch while she let me pet her and groom her.
She's already harnessed trained and sort of says "Hello" "Goodbye" and "What?"
Originally I was going to try her for a month before making the final decision to adopt her, but I'm thinking that the decision to keep her is already made. My boyfriend thinks she's wonderful.

I had considered eventually getting a large bird in hopes of training for indoor "free flight" demonstrations to include in future educational programs, and from what I've been told this girl is a good flyer, she was clipped before I received her though so I'll be laying down all the basics in training. I think I may very well have the bird I'm looking for now, and even if she doesn't really work well for educational programs, she's still a very welcome member of our household now. :-)
I may also be renaming her "Aurora", but I'm not sure since that sounds quite similar to my other birds name "Aliah" and I don't want them to get confused.
