Don't think he'll turn into a stunner by looking at his current traits but he is only 1 inch so give him some time! At around 2-3 inches you'll know for sure if hes going to be a stunner or not.

I've come to not leave out any fry out sine even ugly dugglings have blossomed very nice here's 2 examples. uploadfromtaptalk1400739346489.jpg

I personally grade rather harsh but only because I have high standards but the pictures in your first post to me would be a 3/10 and his father would be a 1/10 to me.

The first fh that I rated 3/10 has a decent sized kok and nice body shape but his fins, washed out colors, single flower line leave him in a "low grade" imo. To me thats a normal male mature fh which isnt anything special.

The fh in the youtube video to me is a medium grade fh, a 6 or 7/10 which I personally like.

His father to me is HORRIBLE. Thats what I hate about the fh hobby now days. Huge over sized kok's that's even uncomfortable for the fh that just screams hormones, bad diet looking at his condition, and having a flowerline that is bleached out along with disgusting coloring imo. Looks like that fry took his mothers side which I'm sure is a better quality.

But then again those are my opinions and that's how I grade so its all subjective. Different people grade differently so if you personally like your fish thats all that matters. Its true some ugly ducklings can grow into decent fh's if the genetics are there but if you see their parents are low quality, chances are very slim to get any sort of stunner.

your fry's gonna be a fader for sure. And it is promising he will be a beauty beast if taken care of.

the father for breeding head gene ok. but I wouldnt want to keep for my own enjoyment because the head gone past the limit

I agree. That kok is passed my personal preference, a proportional kok is 100 times better than an over sized kok that just looks horrid imo.

To OP do you possibly have a picture of the mother? I'm quite curious to be honest haha.

Yea here's a video he sent me of the mother with the uncle of the little guy pic also of the uncle

Whoa there's some genetic/hormone mishap with this guy's fish imo. That's a nice female though and there is some potential in the fry. I know a couple high end breeders and from what they tell me is that two high quality stunners only produce 1/4th of the total fry to be sold at a premium at 1.5-3 inches. They usually sell 1/4th of the undesirable fry to lfs in Asia as there so plentiful leading to people only wanting quality fry. Its a shame they discard around 1/2 of the fry as they aren't desirable but I guess thats part of the game.

I'm sure your fry if a male will grow a kok by the time its mature but I'm 99% sure it wont be a stunner as its just so very minimal. Stunners have a consensus which lead into a nice spherical kok, outrageous color, nice body shape, and overall good composure. His uncle looks pretty darn good but that tumor growth is a no go for me! But good luck, I'm looking forward to his growth!
