Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus (Flying Fox)
What a great species! I had some BBA start to appear on the the hardscape and plants. It didn't seem to be out of control but was highly noticeable. I'm not a fan of adding chemicals (i.e. hydrogen peroxide) to try and combat it if I don't have to, so I did some research on what fish could target this kind of algae.
Although it sounds like they may not always control this type of algae... man did mine get right to work after they were sure the SA/CA cichlids wouldn't eat them.
Within 2 weeks of being able to roam the tank freely without fear, all the BBA is gone!
Just a really cool fish, and it's sweet when nature can address something other than man-made solutions.
