I picked up a new large female front a few weeks ago,the largest hump of all my fronts and just wanted to show how pretty shes become. She has some type of gill issues (i don't know what it is, they both look good to me.

I had watched her in the LFS for a few months and everytime she was hidden with her left side (bad gill side) facing the back of the tank, hovering over a sponge filter. She was solid black and looked very unhappy. We went in during a sale and found that she was still there. We got her discounted and after a little persuading my hubby said ok. :D We got her home and she of course hid. About 30 minutes after she was swimming with the rest of the Fronts, and she has been blossoming ever since. She is by far the largest coming in at 9 inches. She rules the tank. The next largest is 7 inches and then the rest range from 4-6 inches. I don't know what variant she is, (or most of the other too lol) but feel free to let me know :)

Thank you. I really have grown quite fond of these guys. Though my new female is my fave due to her "funny gill". :headbang2

Any idea on variants?

Thanks Mike! I was hoping that's what she was. Do you think they are all Burundi? Or should I get some clearer pics?

Congrats on the pick up! Treat her to some krill :D

Yeah thats a male. I have females her size and they don't have humps anywhere near that big. Mike is right about it being Burundi. I also noticed a Kigoma in the tank with him on the second pic from the bottom. May not want these two to interbreed, especially since the Kig looks a good size as well.
