New Festae Parents

Hello all, I haven't posted on here in a long time, but those who may remember me know that I was bit by the red terror bug lol. I'm still very much into red terror cichlids, and now have another recently established pair that laid their first eggs about a month and a half ago. I have those fry going in their own tank, but just yesterday they laid eggs again! I plan on leaving this spawn with them to see how their parenting goes and hopefully strengthen their bond. Afterall, the best time to observe festae is when they're breeding right? ? Cheers!

Males been going through some intense greens and yellows. When he goes in the pot and looks at the eggs his black bars come out ?

Amazing colors in the cichlids! The fry are gonna look amazing when they grow up.

They look amazing. I too have been bitten by the Festae bug and a few months ago I received some fry from my original pair I kept a few years ago that I’m growing out to have another pair! They are developing super nicely

Nice! Did you give your pair to a new owner? If so, did you keep some fry from the pair or did you receive the fry from the new owner?

I gave my pair to a close friend of mine who put them in a 530G community aquarium. They spawned many times in there until the male ended up dying from taking on a Buttikoferi much larger than himself. The female is now in another 800G aquarium where she rules the tank and has a new male. This is the third male she has been with (the original male I had with her that was killed by the Buttikoferi, the second she killed, the third she gave a pretty bad beating too but the male has healed up) turns out she is a bit of a heart breaker. The fry I received are from my original male and female.

I used to have many pictures of them but sadly everything got wiped off my phone. I managed to scrounge up this photo of the female though (form when she was in the 530G tank). Her colours are slightly washed out in the photo due to it being taken at a time there was no male with her. Excuse the glare.

Shes niiiiiiice! Shes got good form and barring, i bet your fry will come out nice too. And those are some massive tanks! I got my pair in a 125 gallon at the moment but now it sounds so small lol
