I bought this little terror a week ago along with another one as well. They are both around 2.5-3 inches. The one in the pic looks like a female and constantly chases the other one all over the tank. Surprisingly she has a pretty good personality. Anytime im around the tank she's always right there following me around. I cant tell if the other one is a male or female bcuz its alot darker bcuz its always stressed out. Let me know what you guys think. Ill try to get a pic of the other one but its always hiding. Nice festae, this one looks male to me:) I could be wrong because they're always hard to sex just by looking at this size. Give it another inch or so to be sure.
 
Thanks guys. The reason why i think its a female is bcuz the front of the dorsal fin is getting black and so are the pelvic fins. Its hard to see from the pic. I had a couple festae years ago but dont really remember the growth rate. Can anyone help me out with that?
 
I see 3 Y's with one upside down. Sweet. Send us a shot of the left side of it. Interesting in seeing the pattern over there. By all means, don't let it assassinate the other one. Move the subordinate one to another tank. The stress alone could kill it. They aren't the hardiest of cichlids.

I just reread this these fish are only 2.5-3" ? Whats wrong with mine they dont have any color like this just pink!:(
