New FH

Hi, I am new to the forum as well as FH keeping. I have a 80g tank and would like to purchase my first FH. I have a couple options to choose from, and could use a little help making my decision.

Option #1- Buy some fry from a local selling on CL $10 each.

Option #2- Buy fully grown male and female from local selling on CL for $120 for both

Option #3- Buy 3" FH from local selling on CL for $40

Option #4- Buy from only local fish store that carries FH JoJo's Aquarium $120-$180

i'd buy a one of the fry for 10 dollars, it will likely turn out to e higher grade than all the others. the pair most definitely looks related though, which some people think is a good thing but i do not.

I say get the pair. $120 is very cheap. Some people would pay $120 for each

I would buy a few of the fry and raise to get a MP FH.

i would get that pair for $120 easily. good looking pair for sure.

i would also option to purchase some of their frys. like probably 6 frys. they would be fine in that tank for a few months all together. by then you should be able to pick a good one for yourself and re-sell off the rest for 5 or 10 bucks on your local CL or on here, or any good fh site. it's a cannot lose situation. you will get a nice fish for your tank and get the chance to raise they frys (so you can get some experience doing that)for a bit, and only spend very little money (based on how much you can sell the extra frys for). this is what i would do honestly. those adults look very nice and for good price, but raising frys is fun stuff to do.
