A few weeks ago I broke down an old sponge filter and attached it to a spare Bacteria House. The flow through BH is not like a sponge, but I wanted to try it out for fun. I have a 2217 running efhi mech and all pads. The first week it was cycling, and now on to the fourth week my water parameters are perfect. My bio load is not very high. I'm gonna add a few more fish to test out this filter. Suction is slower than a sponge, so debris do not get stuck to the BH. I'll keep everyone up to date on the experiment. This could be all the EM im not sure i may try to take out the EM.
