New filter socks

Do I need to rinse or clean them in any way before placing them in my sump?

Yeah retailers suggest you rinse the socks before using them, something about releasing them from any culpability if your fish die

Give em a good rinsing and you should be ok.

I didn't. didn't think of it really. Did some modifications to them to make mine work in my W/D, but all is good with no rinse. I would though, its not too much additional trouble.

Might as well rinse them out.
