I just moved into a new house. When I moved my 240, I found that the old hardwood floors underneath had bowed up from a Filter(Aquaclear 500) Leak. My wife being very paranoid and very afraid of something similiar happening in the new house wants me to get new and better filters for the tank.

It contains a Huge Giant Gourami, a group of Clown Loaches, some smaller cichlids, a couple Pleco's, a couple Synos, a group of Cory Cats, and some Australian Rainbows.

Right now I have a couple of Eheim Knock of Canister filters, can't rember what they are called, got them off Ebay a few years back. They do a fine job and keep the tank fairly clean, but I am also wary of there leak potention, especially with the tank on the upstairs of the new house in our dinning room.

I am considering a pair of Eheim 2128 Thermofilters, so I could eliminate the need for heaters as well.
I don't have any experiance with them, and didn't know how many I need to keep the temp constant. Wasn't sure if I could get away with one of those for filter and temp and maybe a Rena Filstar or 2. Also the house temp will be kept between 68-75 all year.

Money is less of an issue that reliabilty in this case.
Fluval's are definitly out as I have had one and it broke, and a good friend of mine had one that just leaked and ruined his floor.

All suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

Well if money is not an issue then go with the Eheims. Looks as if Eheim rates there 2128 for up to a 160g aquarium so I would imagine that two of them would heat you 240g. Worse that would happen is you may have to add an additional heater.
