So I was uber board today and decided that the weekly trip to That Fish Place was a grand idea. Every time I go there I always find something to bring home ...well today was no exception and I picked up a nice healthy 4 inch Festivum to add to my eclectic 90 gal. Hey for 6.99 I couldnt say no could I???

New guy...seems very happy to have some new tank mates and some yummy treats.

Pic 1 is the new festivum
pic 2 is my way overfiltered waaaay over stocked 90 gal
pic 3 is a fish I have never seen before. They where listed as "bull head's" Any one have info on them??
pic 4 and 5 is just a random 7 inch plus Geo they had for 29 bucks
Pic 6 and 7 is 2 examples of the Titanium Flowerhorns they have. They have 6 in stock and if I had the cash I would buy all of them. Smallest one was 4 inches.

Was the first time I have seen them....they where def an interesting fish but looked really stressed and I figure I will wait a bit to pick one up. Cheap too ...I think they where like 9 bucks

the "bullhead" is Steatocranus casuarius, i always see them labeled as buffalo head cichlids.

Nice pick ups though.

Those are "Buffalohead" Cichlids (Steatocranus casuarius). Just about every LFS Ive been to that has them calls them bullheads as well, why Ill never know.

They are African and pretty peaceful for an african. I had 4 once and over about 2 yrs they only got about 4 inches. My pairs were extremely monogamous.

They LOVED shrimp and all 4 would play in front of a powerhead I had for literally hours. I had them on black sand for a long time and they stayed grey but when I put them on white sand, they colored up nicely with a yellow tinge on grey body.

cool thanks for the info...since they are africans I guess I wont be getting any soon. We stick to CA/SA. .....now those flowerhorns are a different story lol we are planning another tank soon. There is just something about BIG SA/CA's that I just love. I will say that the Festivum was a great choice for our tank he seems to fit in perfectly and is already begging for food as soon as he sees us near the tank.

yea, I switched to 100% new worlds years ago and never looked back. I do love a buttikoferi though. Thats the only one Id throw in the mix of some CA/SA's.

Sweet pic ups man, those FH's look interesting as well.

Nice pickup and nice tank.

I've got a couple festivums growing out myself. I've had them since they were less than 1". They are cool fish.

I've seen those buffalo heads a couple times. I've never seen them called bullheads.

Man that Festivum is super pretty, actually pretty jealous :)
