I got home to the pleasant surprise of a box of fish on my front porch! 5 fish total and all were alive! 2 gold severums (a little smaller than I would've liked), and 3 firemouth cichlids. The firemouths seem to have no ill effects from the overnight plane ride and are doing just fine. One of the severums is just hiding and I'm not sure the other one will make it. It was a little beat up to begin with compared to the other one and it was immediately sitting on the bottom of the tank. I reached in and he allowed d me to hold him in my hand (not a good sign) so I held him up by the filter where the water had heavier flow and more oxygen. I kept him there until he swam out of my hand. Now he occasionally swims but not very far nor very fast. But at least he's upright. I did a big water change before introducing the new fish. I was already battling ich so I removed the carbon and dosed my tank a heavy dose age of Nox-Ich. This stuff works miracles! And it turns the water blue! I'm debating adding some aquarium salt tomorrow. Oh and I have the heat cranked up to 87. Sometime hopefully tomorrow my Tahitian moons and will arrive and I'll complete my tank changeover.
