Here is my new (Mystus leucophasis). I have been wanting one of these for some time now and once I saw this 8 or so inch beauty for $15.00 I knew I had to have it. I gotta admit, I am not used to seeing a fish remain upside down all the time but he is really cool and a blast to watch. Here are some pictures of him.

My hand next to him for scale. Pardon the dirty looking water. I was doing a tank cleaning and scrubbing algae off the glass.

After the tank cleaning I setup the tank a bit differently in order to make him feel more at home. I gave him a PVC tube but he seldom hangs out in it. He mostly hangs out near the surface in the plant, It's floating now just for him.
A bit of information about the fish. Though they look like African synodontus they aren't related. These guys are in the Bagridae family. Size I am not sure of. Some say they reach 7", others say 11". According to planet catfish males remain smaller then females so that probably has soemthing to so with the size confusion. I know mine is a male because males of the species have a long genital papilla that is quite visable. They come from Myanmar, Asia.

Cool fish! Maybe he's not used to you being upside down all the time.

You can never have enough catfish;) I like then they are as tough as old boots. Water parameters are generally no a problem and my one ate anthing:D That also includes small tank mates.

So you have kept them before? I haven't talked to amny people that have. What was your experiance with them like?

nice find, I never see any longer than like 2 or 3inches!

Thanks, nether had I and the last time I saw any was probably 4 years ago. I was very pleased with my find. :)
