New fish(but one dead). Please help ID

top pic looks armatus but im thinking it's cause of the angle. bottom 2 pics look scomb, did u get this from 328 or nks? imo botha are scomb..also u will get better results from the other characin forum

if you just put him in the tank it is because he is stressed, give it a stress coat or give it some time, i'm sure he'll come around

He can't seems to swim properly, always "parking" at the bottom, one corner.
I added blackwater, hope he come around fast

But as said if new it could be stressed,i find when i have bare bottom tanks,my fish act very strange indeed..Did you aclimatise them or add them straight to the tank?
also has the tank been set up and matured properly?

Damn looks like a little tarpin, does it do the same in community tank with others, looks like a schooling fish to me, it could be sulking as some fish do that, how long has he been like that ?

This fish don't move much.. only super fast when hunting down prey. Its seem stress, let it settle down

It does'nt look like a scomb to me,more like a tat or even possibly an armatus.The tailfin is too big for a scomb,even at this small size.How much did they cost?

Nope not a Tarpon, actually a Payara, Hydrolycus scomberoides.


What size tank is this? Payara get BIG.
