I have recentley got myself 3 Severums and a Blue Acara...

...As far as i was aware the Severums were

Male Gold Efaciatus
Female Red Spotted Efaciatus
Male Green Efaciatus

and the Blue Acara was a standard Pulcher..

However having been looking at them for a while, i'm changing my mind.

It looks to me like i have 2 red spotted sevs (male and female) and i was right on the green.

The larger 'gold/red spotted' Sev also has red eyes...which my old Gold Sev didnt have.

The Blue Acara looks to me like it could be a Andinoacara Sp. Gold Saum (i hope it is not)...

Opinions guys?

no idea with the sevs sorry.. but i can say that the last fish isnt a gold saum ( i breed them ) looks more like blue acara to me.. but looks a little thin.. and possibly stunted. ( i say this because of the size of the eyes )

Look at the "snake like" markings on the cheeks....male.

So do you think all 3 of the Sevs are Male?

I still think the small Red Spotted is Female because her 'face markings' look a part of her pattern wheras on the Green and the bigger one, they seem seperate...if that makes sense.

I have been told the Blue Acara is a Female...not sure if she is stunted, only got her yesterday and she was pretty cheap.

Also is my bigger Sev a Gold or a Red Spot?

Big sev looks just like my male gold, only smaller. The other ones are tricky at that size but I'm leaning female on the red spot, the green needs to hold still so you can get a clearer pic though...ask him nicely :) Also I'm seeing a regular blue acara there, not sure of sex though.

Is it normal for Gold Severums to have red Eyes? liek the rim around the black in the middle?

My old Male Gold Sev looked very different
