argh the anticipation. I am too excited I had to go ahead and post. I moved to a new apartment a few weeks ago and all but just a couple of fish made the move without issue. One of the losses was the smaller xiloaensis in my avatar...the big guy is still doing just fine *whew*. :) I was never 100% sure that the smaller was a female so....I placed an order yesterday with Mr. Jeff Rapps and the big guy is finally going to get 2 vented females. He'd better like one of them. lol

So yeah I've got 2 vented female xiloaensis in the 4-4.5" range, 1 male saggittae in the 7-8" range (can't wait to see this guy...I'm sure Jeff picked an awesome specimen based on what I told him I was looking for). I've also got a 4-5" male synspilum, a 4-5" male carpintis 'escondido' and 4 juvie Thorichthys pasionis.

Argh the waiting..lol. Well they should arrive tomorrow and I have batteries charging so that I can get some pics of them :)

that's awesome...but if your fish arrived then where are the pics? :D lol I'd love to see a pic of the xilo you received.

Sorry to hear about your little Xilo.

I really want to see the pics of the new guys when they arrive, awsome selection.

I just got my 4 new Krobia sp. Xingu Orange on Tuesday 1" little guys they all arrived in great shape and healthy eating like pigs. Jeff is a nice guy to deal with. Good Luck you must feel like it's Christams Eve!

Im at work right now my girl recieved them and put them in the tanks, I'll post pics tonight, and jeff is a great guy to deal with very patient with me as he answered the lots of emails and phone calls over the past three weeks while I figured out what to get.

I totally agree. Each time I've ordered from him I had to exchange at least 6-10 emails with him first to get the information I needed to make my final selections. He's also very patient about taking requests for certain sizes and color combinations. I asked for very specific colors for the xilos and the sag that I ordered. Can't wait to see what he picked out for me.

Aquanero, yes it does feel a little like christmas eve. Like a little kid sitting by the window watching the snow fall and waiting for Santa's arrival, I sit by my computer constantly refreshing the UPS tracking information for my fish. :D LOL

jason what size tank are your xilos in and any tankmates if you dont mind me asking? Im home now fish look great but are a little shy at the moment so pics later tonite.jeff picked me out a great looking male white base with black spotches on the head and back and some blue in his sides, gonna be a stunner!

sounds awesome :D the male in my avatar is in a 125 and the incoming female xilo's of course will go in with him. my big male has never been overly aggressive. he used to have territorial spats with his brother but I don't think they even ever locked lips. his brother went to Jworth a while back.

Also in the 125 are 4 silver dollars, 2 bristlenose plecos (male and female in the 4-6" range each) and a Syn. eupterus that I bought today. The syno is probably 8" at least. Oh yeah and a 3" black belt and a 2" chocolate cichlid. I forgot about the smaller guys until I glanced over and saw them swimming around. lol

When the new fish arrive I will be doing some rearranging.

Can't wait to see pics of the male you got. :)

I requested from Jeff:

7-8" male sagittae with deep orange and as much black coloration as possible. I was looking for something as close to piebald as possible. I told him I was fine with either a sag or labiatus but he said his larger labiatus that have black are females so that's why I went with the sagittae.

2 female xilo's with the blue coloring that he described to me. I told him I otherwise wasn't all that picky with the color of the females, it was the large male that I was ordering that I wanted to be in contrast to the male xilo I have. :)

thats cool i was actually thinking about adding a blackbelt to my tank, not sure yet im gonna be moving some fish around also, i was gonna put my jd's in with the xilo in the 125 but they just spawned for the first time so now i may just leave the xilo and lyonsi in the 125. lyonsi was gonna go in a 55 by himself. who knows gotta rethink my plan now!
