looks like a juv. largemouth bass.

Yeah, it's a largemouth bass. An easy one to figure out but thought I would have a bit of fun with it. I was catching tons of them a few days ago, they lived in a little creek that was the overflow from a pond across the street. With the flooding and all a lot of them were actually trapped in the water filled footprints of cows. Anyway, I'm going to raise him up for awhile, probably till next spring and then I am going to let him go into a privatly owned pond (not the wild). He is a great little fish and already knows who feeds him, it took him a day but he eats frozen foods. He spits out flakes though and it will probably stay that way. It will be interesting to see just how fast this baby will grow.

Davo: Thanks, I love that little pleco, you should see him clear algae. I take algae covered rocks out of my other tanks and he goes right to work, I am talking some major algae here...some of it literally inches long over a large slab of rock but he clears it within days.

my old bluegill ate a largemouth about that size once

nice lg. mouth, i had one that size till it tryed to eat my danio then couldnt swallow it and died

Thats the size of my bass when I caught him. Nice catch!

Nice bass, I have a lm and a sm right now, there about to go into my 125 as soon as I get rid of my silver aro. They are really cool fish, its just difficult to get them on prepared food so I go out a few times a month and catch fathead minnows from a local pond.
