Is it a geophagus? Is it a chiclid? Is it a geochlid? Well it was labeled geophagus yeribileto. First time I've seen or heard of this fish. He was to cool looking to pass him up. Upon getting home I tried doing some google searches and found near nothing. I need help from the community here please.

It is some type of Gymnogeophagus species. 'Yerbilito' refers to a collection area I believe. I have some G. gymnogenys 'Yerbilito' (more properly called 'Quilero' I'm told), but it doesn't look much like your fish. It seems closer to a G labiatus, but there are several species, races that look rather similar. Below is one of the G. gymnogenys I have, and below that are two of my G. labiatus (bought at the same time, both listed as 'Rio Olimar').

Note that Gymnogeophagus occur mainly in Uruguay, and thus are subtropical. They do better when provided with a cool-down period in the winter (low 60's F).

Lol of course I will care for him. But are there any specific things I need to do. And yes I'm in rvc and I got him from total aquariums in lynbrook.

Apart from benefiting from a cool down period over the winter, Gymnos have pretty general requirements. Ideally the water should be hard and slightly alkaline, but I don't think they are overly fussy in that regard. They are quite peaceful for cichlids. The biggest challenge is providing them with proper temperatures because tropicals (such as your severum) won't tolerate the cooler conditions over the winter.
