Hey, I was flipping through the channels and came across an Aqua Kids episode showing a fish I've never seen before. It was a boney looking fish about 3ft in length, blackish colored, it had a very wide mouth that it kept open while slowing moving thru the water, the jaw looks like it almost unhinges and hangs open in a perfect circle shape with these massive filters inside that collect food. It was being kept at an aquarium located in louisiana i think, the pond looked like it had a swampy setting. They fed it brine shrimp eggs(or something similar) that stayed floating mid-water and it would swim thru the cloud collecting food then to swallow it would chomp it's jaws shut a couple times then open up and go back to feeding. If anyone knows of this species, or even common name or genus, I've googled every possible name or description of it and haven't come across a picture to confirm it.
If anyone watches that show with their kids, maybe they've seen it before. It really is a cool looking fish, and I believe it's freshwater.
