I picked up a female RD last week that was in a tank with a butti. She was holding eggs and her tube was out. I put her in my 240g, and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite fish to watch. I thought I would pick her up a male to see what would happen....and this is what I found today. This guy is just a bad ass.

As soon as I started floating him, she came up to the bag and wouldn't leave that spot. When I released him, she followed him everywhere and would not leave his side. He is a bit smaller, so I took him out after an hour or so and put him into a 55g alone.

Anyway, he is just stunning to look at and he has a ton of personality. The store had him listed as an RD for $18.99. I had him bagged and then another worker came over and started arguing with him, saying it was a flowerhorn and should be $29.99. I tried to stay out of it, but they decided to call the owner. He came up with calling it a white flowerhorn at a price of $16.99...and he said he would bet his store that the fish wiould be ID'ed as exactly that. All I know is that it is some sort of hybrid.

edit// sorry for the imageshack pictures, gallery is still down :(

He is a good eater too. Looks like he is getting a hump on his head. Thanks for the ID :)
Do these Jhin Kangs hold their color, or will he will peel as he gets older?

Jing Kang seem to get better with age. Look some up on aquabid.com and you'll see how spectacular they can be.

I love this fish...he is eating bloodworms, hikari gold floaters and he has taken out 2 comets ( I use small comets as clean up crews...they do an excellent job and are very cheap if they get eaten)

He started diving at the glass and rubbing his side on the gravel....never seen this behavior in any of my fish before. His colors are getting brighter and he is flaring up....only other fish beyond the remaining comets is an EBJD.

I searched and found one at 15" for $500! The color on that guy is just unbelievable...will this little guy get a full body suit of orange like that? Amazing...
