That's what I wanted to hear thank you I'm still excited I've done oscars and jack dempseys in the past with good luck had an encounter with Ebjd didn't turn out well but I have some more knowledge now and looking for more thank you again

Now that I get to see a better pic of this guy, I like him a bit more. He might turn out quite nice even if he is kind of common looking right now. He looks a lot like my Kamfamalau did. Unfortunately, mine jumped out of the tank somehow (had lid on) and died. Take a look back on my progress thread on him.

I would have to agree with you. They are very similar in shape the only difference I can see from your pics and looking at my fish is the fins seem to have different markings and color red verse blue mine looks so much like a jack Dempsey but the eyes and fin color and well the face now I'm just blabbering thank you for the in site

Ones from right after the water change and the other is from this morning I end up taking stuff out of the tank I think I had to much goin on in the tank Waters got a tint to it maybe a little much stress coat I'll change 10 gal out later with fresh water

Now thy I've read some more I'm mor interested in possible backgrounds of this fish has strange behavior then any other fish I've had. So any father mother ideas ? Any ideas on better lighting ideas I have a standard aquarium fluorescent day blah blah it was on an Oscar tank so it's not anything special I'm getting a blue background for the tank and plan on mixing some colorful rocks and slowly taking the black ones I used right away then read the stickie about basics of fh feeding cichlid pellets aqueon more air ? Lots of questions any little bit helps thank you for your time =P
