No problem Xander and I'm glad your fully aware of the gluttunous nature of these guys. I know they were supposed to be temperate water fish, but I kept mine in fairly warm water 82F degrees. I got mine from Wes and he told me the temp of the water where they're collected at can get pretty warm during the summer months. So they're fairly tolerant of a large range of temps. I think he should be fine with your gars as long as he doesn't get eaten. They like to hide though until it's feeding time, maybe you could throw some floating plants in there for him or suction cup some to the rear of the tank so he can have cover.
