hey i got 2 jack dempseys today on my trip to the lfs and when i got them home i was wondering if i could put one in each of my larger tanks or if i should keep them together in a smaller tank. keep in mind they are 3 inches, and both of the larger tanks have one 5 inch oscar.. so it would be two 40g. with a 5 inch oscar and a 3 inch jack. OR i could keep the jacks together in a 20g. untill they are larger.

thanks for the help

i know you know u need a bigger tank, but you can put them in the tank with the oscar or with the other jd , do u know what the sex of the jds are

and also my big tank is gunna be here in 3 weeks. so this is all temp =) no worries i just dont want them to be stressed out

at 3" they should be ok in the 20g for a few weeks, but they can become aggressive toward each other at any time as they grow. Just keep an eye on them, one may have to go in one of the oscar tanks.
