Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it sounds like you're implying that they're the same species. They're not - fryeri and ahli are two species. Very similar, but different. Ahli, however, are not too common in stores, and 99.9 percent of store-bought "ahli" are actually fryeri.
That being said, the fish in questions looks like a fryeri cross. You can definitely tell there's fryeri in it, but there are some characteristics that don't match up.
