How big are the hamplala's now? When can we expect feeding vids of them :D

I don't really like to do videos because my memory card is only 32 MB, so it'd be very short and low resolution.

The hampala barb is about 2.5" now. I remember when it was merely .8" and very skinny when it came home with me back in March. They grow extremely slow.

It's really an unclassified species. Some speculate that it's a variant of the castexi ray.

I found a photo in a Japanese magazine that matches the exactly physical characteristics as the ray I have. It's labeled as, Potamotrygon sp., without giving a valid scientific name.

I paid....... :uhoh:

well you could pm me the price if you prefer. Does he have any more? We need a full body shot of the ray as well!

Why didn't you get some of his motoros?

How did you know I didn't get any motoros? ;) :D

You should email John if you may be interested in purchasing one.

I have another which is very light in color and different in the patterning of the disc. Very active and eating right out of the bag from John.

:)

I like the hampala. I ended up picking up 2 hampala dispar last week. Does yours eat dry foods or live? Mine are slowly coming around to dry.

I've never seen the spotted hampalas for sale here. Lucky you.

Mine eats anything. It was nearly starved to death at the wholesalers tanks, so once I bought it home from the store, it began eating live blackworms and took pellets the next day.

I had a school of 10 of these hampala barbs last year, size range from 4-6" and they were absolutely awesome. Wish I had the space to keep them all.
