Hey all,
today I went on a road trip on the hunt of fish again. Like some of you might know I went to pick up 3 Polypterus endlicheri congicus and 3 P. teugelsi and a friend of mine went to pick up two P. endlicheri endlicheri. I got them from Andreas Lorenz in Germany. You can check his website here. He ships in the EU, so if someone from the EU is looking for rare and top quality fish I highly recommend Andreas because my purchase when superb.
The trip a friend of mine (mb_barton) and I made was 1100 km. We got up at 05:30 in the morning, arrived at Andreas at about 11:30, left Andreas at 13:00 and I was brought to my home, where we arrived at at 17:45 and then Mark got home and arrived there at 21:47.
It was all worth it, let me tell you. Andreas was very friendly and he had various cool fish (vittatus tiger fish, goliath tiger fish, lot's of Polypterus, giant gourami's, niger catfish, knifefish, MBU puffers and then some more) so it was a blast to look around. We hardly see these kind of fish in the Netherlands.
We I arrived home I dripped the fish and put them in my tanks. The teugelsi in the big tank and the congicus in the small tank with the black aro. The congicus are to small to be in the big tank, I think they would be eaten.
Both the species ate with the feeding this night (3 hours after they where in the tank) and are looking fine. One teugelsi has a bit of scar on her (I hope I picked two females and one male) sides, probably from the net they where caught with, but it's not a big deal.
The congicus are about 8" and the teugelsi a staggering 18-20"!
Here are some pic, more to come.

Finally I want to think mb_barton for driving the whole way! It was great fun and I certainly have a good time. Cheers Koen
