I'm stoked was able to finally get a Saddleback Grouper. Such a cool fish with its pattern and personality it already has, can't wait to have it grow out and become more personable with people. While acclimating it, I was able to reach into the bucket and pet the top of its head with my finger without it freaking out.

The Grouper is cool looking. Personally like Groupers.

Nice addition.

Great fish! Dont pet it.

I had one in my 300 when it was saltwater. It was about a foot when it jumped out and died. Was my favorite fish. Btw they get to 4 ft in the wild. Where did you get it? They are kind of hard to find.

It was pretty hard to find. Fishy Business Aquatics out of Florida came through for me and shipped it to CA with no issues. It does get big and fast. Since my original post is has already grown 1.5" and is eating a variety of food after weaning it off of ghost shrimp.

Notice the saddleback at 50 sec.

That species looks like a hybrid of the Coral Hind and Saddleback because of the reds and spots.

I haven't seen many patterns like the one I have that are truly in the 2.5"-3" range, but they do get big. I found this to be one of the largest I found on the net.
