I set up a new quarantine/growout tank a couple days ago to house these new arrivals:
From the petsmart down the street:
2 EBAs
5 Clown loaches
From Liveaquaria/divers den:
9 tetragonopterus argenteus
3 syno schoutedeni cats
Im thinkin i got another prospective pair here, they are energetic and feeding well.
Only three of the clown loaches survived the first day. In truth the two that died looked on their way out in the store but I figured i would try and save them. The three others are eating like hogs and have fattened up noticeably in the three days ive had them. I dint think they wouldve lasted much longer in petsmart if i hadnt scooped them.
Coming in this morning via airmail were the argentus tetras. I was very disappointed. Not with the fish mind you. I am very disappointed with all you more experienced members of this forum (
Gourami Swami
,
tlindsey
, especially you

) for not urging me to buy these fish before! They are unequivocally awesome.
They came in healthy and hungry, all range from 2-3". They swarm like a pack of mini piranhas, very active but not erratic. An instant favorite for me. Hard to get a good picture of them all but they school together very tight at times.
I have no pics of the schoutedeni yet. They are still little guys but did manage to oust my loaches from the hiding spot under the log. I will try to lure them out later when theyre settled in.
All these fish are slated to go in my 135 mixed community when theyre large enough to not get destroyed by my JD. But im kinda liking the tank as i have it now...
Thanks for reading.
