new fish suggestions

Hey everyone I'm getting back into the hobby and was wondering if people had any suggestions on what I should get while keeping in mind i live in florida. I used to own 3 rbp's about 7 years ago and loved them...since then its become illegal to get them here. I'm looking for something along the same lines. Ive owned red tail catfish and oscars before. I'd definitely like to stay away from oscars.
By the way i have a 72 gallon bow front right now. Can upgrade if really necessary.
Any suggestions?

what are you looking for in the fish?? more than one or just one wet pet or a breeding pair ??

i really liked the way they pack hunted. Although depending on the fish i could get used to a single fish. No breeding.

ok well i am a big fan of jack dempseys, jaguars, and dovii. with all but the JD you would have to upgrade the tank in a year or so. jags might be fine but the dovii would need a 150 or so.

if you didnt want a cichlid you could go with a couple of polys

lol this site is addicting im mostly asking questions and when i get answers i try to spread them. time between classes is not passed by with out getting on for atleast a quick look at whats new. just feeding my addiction

havent checked out exadons yet..thanks for the suggestion. yea i was looking at the jack dempseys also but not sure.

If you're looking to upgrade to something like a 125 or even better a 180 for a single fish - check out a fahaka puffer.

That tank would also make a nice Tropheus tank if you wanted to go that route. Of course I am partial to CA/SA cichlids myself.
