I have a school of 6 Buenos Aires tetras in my 55g. The other day I was at Petsmart and picked up 2 more for their $1 special, I would have purchased more but that is all they had. I acclimated them to my tank and let them join the school. I could tell that the original 6 had better color but the new fish were healthy looking. I watched them throughout the night and they seemed to fit right in. The next day I came downstairs to feed them in the morning and found 1 of the new BAT's skull in the sand, the other was completely gone.
Why would the other BAT's have picked the new ones off? I also have a ~5" JD, but he never really bothers the school.
I would like to add more BAT's to the tank, maybe 5 more, but I do not want them to end up the same way.
