Looks exciting! I hope your EBJD's make it past the 3-4" mark. I have heard that a lot of them do not :[
+1. High mortality rate till they hit the 4" mark.
Suggestions : Avoid live feed, stick to pellets you prefer
I keep all my cichlids on pellet and sticks they've pretty much took to my big jd

Whats gonna happen if you feed live food. Did something happen to yours or is this something you heard and now tell others. Just wandering
ebjd's are considered very fragile until they get to about 3 inches. the main problem seems to be internal parasites, so if you see white stringy poo act immediately. i would definitively not feed live food until the get to around 5 inches otherwise they will probably pick up an infection or parasite and go the way of the dinosaurs
Very true...Me n my friend lost 4 EBJD's due to bloating ( live feed issues )
They are very fragile in comparison to the other cichlids around.
