Well... through a few back alley deals I had finally collected three 125g tanks. Only problem was I needed stands for them.

I was determined to finally get the stands built to start planning filtration, wiring, and all dimensions for the turtle topper I have planned so I can house some Mississippi Map turtles! So I told the kids to take a hike and took over their toy room!

$200 trip to the hardware store and we where in business!

Measure (3 times!) cut, assemble, repeat!



That's one down! Two more to go :/


Yay they're done!!! Last test is to fill with water and hope I don't have to wake up Jeff (insurance agent) in the middle of the night.

SUCCESS!!! No odd creaks or cracks, just a couple settling clicks! They're level front to back and side to side!!!!!!!!! Woooooohoooooooo Well pics speak a thousand words. Hope you guys enjoy!

Only thing I have to say is for your uprights on your stands think about a 2x4 on the inside between the top and bottom stringer. Then you are not depending on your screw nails taking the load of the tank

I didn't actually tell the kids to take a hike. Just put it in there for story telling flare!

I do agree with the extra vertical 2x4s. It explains why I have 6 extra 2x4s laying on the floor still.

I would think about rapping the backs and sides for shear strength, Just a thought.
