So I got 3 blue-spotted sunfish last month (I ordered 2 and got a little itty bitty baby one too). ever since I got rid of my 3 catfish that were too big for the tank, it has been much dirtier. I'm afraid to do a water change right now cuz the fishies are so small so I'm looking into getting an algae eating fish, preferably one I can get at a general pet store. any suggestions?

Chinese algae eater, Plecostimus(of almost infinite choices), Cory cats, even loaches.
If you're looking for a clean up crew however, nothing beats a responsible fish keeper. A proper water change and routine maintenance isn't going to hurt the new fish....chances are, they came from much rougher surroundings if they came from a farm/hatchery. If algae is your only concern, leave the lights off more than on and consider a UV sterilizer.
