First of all I want to say that it was a complete blast! Loved every minute of it. I got to meet quite a few people, including Mr. Pleco, HPizzle, and JackD from MFK. Not many people were wearing name tags though, so I apologize if I didn't list you, lol. I met so many people, it was hard for me to remember names
. Only regret was not getting to talk to people longer, or meet more people! It was totally a great time though! Looking forward to the next auction in November!
I still have a BUNCH of MFK post cards, so if you missed out on them this time, be sure to come to the one in November to get some!
Anywho, now its time for the fun stuff. I was a runner the whole time (totally awesome, got to meet TONS of people and see almost all the fishies...haha) so I wasn't able to take many pictures. Got Mikes mom to take some pictures for me though. My camera sucks though, so a lot of them were bad...
.
There were four of us that rode together to the auction, and this was our ride. I affectionately call it the demon van. I've never used automatic sliding doors, so I had a bit of a power struggle with them for a while. I finally conquered the art of opening and closing them after a few times. Haha.
The guy wearing the airborne shirt was also a runner, cool guy. We talked Crenicichla a fair amount, haha. Only downside was he was one of the few guys there that was actually bidding against me on some of the SA/CA cichlids there. Not sure if he is a member here on MFK, but on the HAAS forum he is xdoomsongx.
That little girl wearing the pink was awesome as well. She kept taking all the tanks to be auctioned, and some how all us big guys got stuck with the little bags of guppies and the like. So we got made fun of for making the little girl do all the heavy, hard work.
This is one of the main dudes, kcmikey on HAAS forum, Mike is his name...haha. Very cool guy, easy to get along with, fun to talk to. He was an auctioneer as well as a runner. Pretty cool. The woman behind him is Bobbi (littledixiegal) who also happens to be Mikes (misplacedsooner) mom. Rode up wtih her and two other people to the auction. She is also a very cool person, she gets a kick out of picking on me and teasing me. Go figure huh? LoL Helped Mike get her set up with keeping fish. Eventually I'm going to get some dwarf Crenicichla in her tanks!
This was at the end of the auction. It lasted from 12:00pm till 6:20pm!!!
Holy crapz!! Was a blast the whole time, although my feetsies started to hurt a little bit from all the running. Next time I shalt wear more comfortable flip floppers. I don't know the name of the man holding the # 19, but he is from St. Louis and was the other auctioneer. He spiced it up a little bit, was funny hearing him talk and auction stuff off. He was also the other guy who was bidding against me on the SA/CA cichlids...haha. Really were only three of us bidding on them. Was kinda funny to say the least. The guy behind him is Walter (mofunnyfarm), another great guy! Had a blast talking to him as well. I actually scored some of my fish from him, so I was most happy!
Just thought this was cool, a random little picture. It was the steeple to a church, just thought it looked cool.
Now that all that fun stuff is out of the way, its time to show off the fishies I scored!!
Anyone care to take a guess?!
