Sup guys, I'm relatively new to fish-keeping and the guy at the petstore told me about this website so I read through a couple threads and decided I would register.

I received a free 30 gallon tank bout two months ago and put 7 black phantom tetras in it. Then maybe two weeks later I impulse bought a needle nose gar; I thought the tetras were too big for him to eat but he made pretty quick work of them...

Anyways I have now done quite a bit of research and have decided that I'm glad I was impulsive that day cause this fish is pretty dope even though he's skittish as hell and runs his beak into the glass every now and then.

I'm hoping to learn all the necessary stuff I need to know about tanks and monster fish and what not so that I can have a 100 gallon tanks cycled [that's the plan so far but haven't put much thought into it yet] before that gar grows too big for the 30 gallon. Well, I think I've rambled on enough. Hello to everybody, and thanks for the advice I've already read before I became a member.

here's my fish
