New Florida Gar with weird tail fin

We ordered this beautiful guy and he came to us like this, with his strange tail fin. Is it something to be concerned about? Not sure if it an injury or a birth defect. And now husband is not so sure he is a Florida gar but maybe a long nose gar??

That tail looks abnormally long. I'm not suite what's wrong with it z.

It’s a Florida and normal tail for a fingerling. Nice fish. Just keep lots of small feeders in with it and it’ll grow out of that stage fast.

Their tails are like that at first,they grow out of it.
