Just give him some more time to get use to his new tank,
He should get better with more time.

I am a new flowerhorn owner myself. I got a small inch long fry about two weeks ago and he was pretty shy. He would stay near the filter input and wasnt even remotely interested in the food i was offering him. It wasnt until about 3 days in where he would start perking up and eating. Your fish is new, give it some time.

One fast method is lessen his space. He now feels insecure with a large space.
But 48hours is still too early. It can probably to a week or more. Plus the lights. Interact with him more by offering him food.

What I like to do with all new arrivals is make sure they are comfortable. For me this means low lighting, not a massive empty tank, lots of plants fake or real, clean water, not too much rukus around the tank, and good food.

Some fish can take months to settle in and other just hours. Patients in key.

Don't forget to pay attention for health issues. Good luck.

still not eating and i see clear/ white poop. gonna try to epsom salt hex treatment

Give him time. My flowerhorn used to never come out behind the heater but now, he is bite the glass aggressive and will try and eat anything you put in the tank (including fingers!)

hes getting tad better. put small piece of wood in. still picky on eating.

Bought two juvenile FH' s last Sat. Currently acclimating them in a 65 gal. QT / grow out tank. Tank is scaped with a few Texas Holey Rocks and has some BlackSkirt & Rosy Tetras in it. The FH' s laid low under the rocks for couple of days. Now they are eating. Point being; probably a good idea to add a substantial peice of decor to the tank. Might add a few tough Tetras for dithers. I feed mine Omega One flakes and Micro sinking cichlid pellets.
Might consider adding some type of non-toxic disease preventative like Kordon's Ick Attack. I'm using it now.
Nice looking FH. Hope things level out soon.
