I didn't like how the 40 breeder was setup so I went out and got a 55 for my Flowerhorn, the 2nd pic has him separated with 2 midevils because I have nowhere else to put them at the moment. Just thought I'd share. I'm becoming super expert at putting on those PetSmart static cling backgrounds lol, this tank has it on the back, sides, and even bottom. I'm actually not a fan of these, my other tanks have black backs or DIY concrete bg's but I keep hearing color is good for FH's...let me know what you guys think.

nice tank!

Thanks, it's REALLY annoying to put those static bg's on, but it's actually not that bad once you get them on, they can look pretty good

I think 40 breeders are perfect for growing out flowerhorns until they are 7-8 inches. 55 is good for the same thing, anything after i wouldn't recommend a 55. I'd rather stay with 40 because it's 18 inches deep vs 55 which is 12inches deep. My 40's have grown up to 10inch guys pretty easily.

Yeah I like the depth of the 40, I just didn't like dividing it, and I had to divide it a couple different times already...
Nothing is permanent for now, I had to move him out of the 40 so I could get that tank off of some furniture so I can move the furniture out. I'm making a mini fish room upstairs in my temporary mini man cave while my basement is being finished

oh, if you're dividing a 40 breeder than yeah it gets a bit annoying. I meant the 40 for a single fish.

Yeah, I just feel like its so small, even though my flowerhorn is still small...I actually made some acrylic dividers for both the aquariums and they work pretty well.
