new flowerhorn not eating

last night i purchased an 8 inch flowerhorn. i gave it the food that the man recommended i feed it, but he isnt eating. i also tried other foods like, cichlid sticks, pellets, freeze dried krill, frozen krill and feeders. what should i do?
he puts the recomended food in his mouth and then spits it out. please help hes a beautiful fish i want him to do well
 
Attach (2) wires to a positive terminal on a 12V battery; 12 drops of lemon juice or 8.2344317 drops of citric acid and then put the wires down into the water...then and only THEN will you want to take off your shoes...yes YOUR shoes; take them off. Then just feed them.




as a disclaimer in case you're stupid: don't do any of the above mentioned steps. Feed them like normal fish and they will act like normal fish...eventually.
 
Welcome new memeber! Sounds like he just needs to get adapted to his new home, sometimes it Can take a few days.

i got two flowerhorn for free, they are about 7" and i have the same problem with my fish. i hope they will eventually eat
 
His just adjusting to his new enviroment and ur not suppose to feed him anyway in the first day u got him.
