We named her Sarah Jane after the Dr. Who character. Was sold to us as a SRD but have no sense of the FH variants to validate that. In any case we are enjoying her enthusiasm for life!9365FD9B-318D-4DAB-BBEA-A40BC63A2E54.jpeg

I also replied to your FB post, I think a blue background might help her color up.
We may at some point. My wife painted the background for the previous occupant. I have no complaints about her color but would be an interesting experiment. Man FB! Quite a vibrant FH community there. I prefer here, however.

Hope you aren't too attached to those redtail sharks

Good lookin FH
Thanks! Ha. You are probably right about the sharks. I have a 120 I could put them in if need be, though have put PVC pipes and driftwood for them to hide. So far they are all swimming around but that dynamic will likely change as SJ grows out. She’s already grown 1/2” in two weeks.

I would keep a very close eye on the situation.

Here I tried to see if Spannar barbs would cohab with my Amphilophus. It worked for a couple days. Then one night while I slept he ate four out of six.

Even fish you would think to be safe, may be in trouble. Same Oscar above nearly ate this SD, it was just big enough to not be a meal20180617_132135.jpg

Couldn't agree more. FH communities are in bad shape, full of misconceptions. MFK is best place as per as I have found, I was on MFK before I even had FB account, then last year joined a group and realized how bad it is and started my own. If I could move everyone on FB to here I would.

Agree, it works till it doesn't. I saw a guy on fb mfk group, he added a snakehead to community tank and he was replying let's see to everyone who told him to remove it.

Oh man this photo says it all! Yes I half expect this when she gets bigger. Alas. The life of a ditherer. ? I had a friend that kept one with his Jaguar cichlid for some years so thought I’d give it a try.

Update on my wife’s Flowerhorn. She’s turning into quite the beast at 8” at 9 months old. While I was never a fan of Flowerhorns I must say their interactive personalities are quite great. I’ve never had a cichlid come up to my hand or arm and give me affectionate head bumps before. My Oscar used to be out for blood! Her eating has slowed down overall but she continues to grow.
