This might be silly, but I'm just being cautious. My SRD Flowerhorn arrived from Tampa Bay Cichlids last Friday, on June 9th. I acclimated him and released him into his new home, a barebottom 75 gallon, all to himself! Water parameters are good, I've been cycling for over a month and a half. Granted I knew the first day or two he would be stressed and stick to the shadows.

I know it has only been four days but he is still "sticking" next to one of the two sponge filters I have in his tank. He isn't even attempting to hide the various deco I have placed in the tank.

I shifted him to the side of the tank tonight after work with my net to make sure he was still alive and he is. I've attempted to coax him out by dropping a pellet or two at a time in front of him but to no avail, which is understood being in a new environment.

Come to find out though, he more or less shimmied his way back to the sponge filter with only his pectoral fins. It took a solid 10 grueling seconds to watch him return to his spot. I have not run into this problems in my years of cichlid keeping and doesn't follow any new fish syndrome that I have encountered.

I was wondering if any of you guys would have any insight into this dilemma of mine, or if I'm just stressing for no reason. I appreciate and all information.
