Hello

As some of you might of read or replied to my last topic of a Flowerhorn I was looking at buying. Since then I've been keeping a eye out and I found one that I brought home tonight.

Don't Have much info on him (was told its a male) if anybody might be able to tell anything from the photo please let me know. I'll try to get some better pics once he adjusts to his new home.

Double row. Really nice man!

Thanks.

It's actually been a few hours and he hasn't moved much and been sitting on the bottom. I remember my Oscars did something like this when I first got them. I was told they were sulking and it would go away is that what he is doing?

Some will call that a Thai Kamalau or a pearly Super Red Dragon. Beautiful fish, he's going to look really nice if you pump him up properly.

He's just stressed from his move. Leave the light off and let him adjust. He will perk up soon. I love his colors. Grats on your new fish!

Nice, I'll look them up. I've read a good bit on HF and that feeding them a variety of food is recommended. Right now I'm feeding Hikari Cichlid Gold (Normal, Sinking, & Bio-Gold+), Beef Heart, Frozen Blood Worms, Freeze Dried Krill/Shrimp. I'very read that Humpy Head & ChingMix are good brands to use.

Yea, when I turned the lights off for the night he did seem to start swimming around. Yea he's one of the nicest I've seen at my LFSs.

When I first seen him he didn't have any pearls showing probably cause off the poor lighting but he was still pretty stunning nice red and white colors wasn't till I got him home that he started showing his true colors.

awesome score just wondering where you found him. i don't exactly see tons of super nice guys like this around jersey but they've certainly been popping up more lately.

How long did the tank water cycle before you put the fish in?

The tank was setup about a week ago but the media in the filter is cycled from other tanks.

Thanks. Yea I've noticed that lately they have been becoming more popular and stores been getting them in. I found him at Fishtown USA in Ramsey.
