New fluval fx5 media choice?

I just put matrix and purigen and what else should I in the late baskets ?

Make sure the purigens in a media bag for loose particles, in mine I run all 3 trays with api Chem stars and I use the foam bricks, works like a champ, I also have ac110 for mechanical

I have put matrix in the 2nd 3rd basket and ceramic noodle ring on the 1st basket I put the purigen in the sump does the purigen have to be in a lose bag because I have it in a small bag

Ok word that kind of verifies what I was thinking about runnng mainly bio through the FX5 and then adding an additional filter or two for mechanical. How often do you mess with cleaning the fx5, and how many gallons are you runnng it on/bioload etc? - N

ok i have roughly around 900 liter tank and iam running 4 foot wet and dry sump with bio balls.
the fx5 and 1 liter of ceramic noodle rings and 2 liters of seachem matrix i have decided to put the purigen in the sump i have 1 liter of purigen in a 300 micron 1000ml Filter Bag should i get an other filter bag for the purigen for the mechanical i hace a jap mat and filter mesh on top of the bio balls and in the last bastket of the fx5 i put filter mesh that i have from the local fish storenot to sure what it is
