Went to a pet expo today expecting mostly dry goods, but there was a guy in the back selling a variety of frogs and tarantulas. I controlled my Raid trigger finger long enough to sneak a look at his frogs, and these two wide-eyed little guys just begged to be taken home with me.

So I now have a normal colored Ornate Horned Frog and an African Bullfrog, or Pixie Frog, to add to my collection of frogs. I already have an albino OHF, who is about 2-2.5" across. These guys are tiny- about the size of a quarter, maybe a little smaller... legs included.

Top pic is the ABF, bottom is the OHF.

First is Hokie the Corn Snake, an '06 hatchling. Second is Banana the OHF, and third are a few of my Cuban Treefrogs.

i ordered two pixies for work and i only recieved one. i called our supplier and they said that one must have eaten the other in shipment and refunded me for the eaten one. they are awsome when they ge bigger.

I can't believe your supplier was dense enough to pack two highly carnivorous animals together in the same box! :screwy: Mine was trying to eat my finger through the clear top of his deli cup the whole way home. He looks at you as though he is sizing you up and wondering how best to fit you into his mouth.

Took some newer, better pics of the frogs while I was cleaning their tanks today. Keeping them in water only is pretty labor-intensive. Makes me glad my big dude is in coconut fiber! I just remove any visible feces, add water, and stir it once a week. Anyway, here they are.

This is the housing I am using. I plan on keeping them in this until they are about 1-1.25" from snout to vent. Just smaller than a half dollar.

The Ornate Horned Frog, Ceratophrys ornata. We are having a tough time coming up with a good name for him. The other OHF I have is called "Banana," so we were thinking perhaps another fruit name... but then again, maybe not... hmm... any ideas?

And here we have the African Bullfrog, Pyxiecephalus adsperus, who has been christened "Jabba [Who Hops]"

Davo, ask and thou shalt recieve.

Adult Cuban, taken this past summer (2006).

When I got them, they looked a lot like Green Tree frogs, without that lateral stripe. I knew they were different, but didn't know what they were until I purchased a book on Florida Wildlife and saw them in it. A student gave them to me last fall as froglets she had raised from tadpoles collected on a spring break trip to Florida in 2005.
