hey MFK, been a long time reader. But finally joined due to buying a 125g off CL. I been in the hobby for roughly 16 years(im 29 so started young). i am currently running 2 tanks 30g and a 55g. waiting on the fx5 so i can set up my 125. my current stock is cons in the 30.(feeders) and a 4" grammode in my 55. i am still un decided on what is going into the 125, i'm leaning torwards a black rhom or a elong. im open to all sugestions. i do not keep comunity tanks. single fish or a pair is totally ok. my background in the hobby has always been SA\CA cichlids. my largest tank ever owned was a 180 so super stoked to have a large tank again. 55 just dont cut it. anyways hope to hear ideas and contribute and interact in the comminity.

Welcome to MFK. With a 125 ypu really have alot of options. I like both rohms and elongs but I think the rohm would make better use of the tank, Im no piranha expert though Im a CA guy.You could always stay with ca/sa too and have countless options. Members F1 vet and mikefromtheinternet could provide you with good info on piranhas.

I'm in Laurel, in between DC/Baltimore.

Oh okay... I'm on the eastern shore across the bay bridge. I used to live in Linthicum, MD.

The rhoms would be nice in the 125g. What else are you using for filtration?

haha yeah i have been on here stalking for a while now, and researching the rhom/elong i seen their names pop often. thanks for the recommendation though.

as far as the CA's go, im not totally counting them out. but like i said, i been doing this a long time and have had larger tanks in the past. i have kept pretty much everything out there for a length of time.(dovii,RD's,RTM,Tmac, sals,jd's,O's, hell even bass and sun fish.) never did the P's though. I always wanted to, just never got around to getting them. ultimately my goal is to have a 500g+ amazon theamed tank. i want a RTC/cichlids. But money does not grow on trees, so ill have to settle for now haha.

filtration will be 2 ac110's and a FX5. i have the 110's already from my old 75 i sold a while ago. but im waiting untill the first of dec. to get the fx5, gotta buy christmas presents too. haha

Filtration sounds good to me! You should do a progressive thread on your tank when you do set it up, I'd like to see it!

Oh and I'm assuming you've been to the house of tropicals? I go there for the majority of my supplies. There located in Glen Burnie.
