Hey guys,

been in the aquarium hobby for a while now, just got my first place and now I have a 75 gallon seaclear acrylic show tank. Has a built in wet/dry filter in the back, houses all the filtration and heat. Just recently I bought a FX5 to help with the bio load my huge 12" pacu is putting out.

Bought the pacu less than a year ago when it was 1 inch big. Had no idea about their growing and tank size requirements (i should have researched them before purchasing) But i freaking love him! will do anything to keep him as long as possible. Will be running the fx5 to build up some BB so i can run it on the next tank i buy which will hopefully be a 180.

check my gallery for pics!

Also have a koi thats white and orange in the tank

Hello and welcome,

Im not a Pacu expert, so I wont offer any advice there,

But Pics are great, and glad to have you here at MFK!

View attachment 397701welcome to MFK... don't feel bad ...so many people buy a pacu and have no idea the huge monster they will be in a short time... i hope you do all you can to provide for him because i do believe they are one of the best fish for genuine personality and fun.... happy fish...i love them too... glad your here and great pics.... are you talking about nova scotia... just beautiful there.

Hey thanks guys! Actually Northern Virginia, not Nova Scotia ( but i wish haha) Finally got to local Super Petz and stocked my new fx5 with Ceramic rings on the bottom with the blue polishing pad and white pad on top (last basket) ZEO Carb in the middle with a course filter pad. and fluval prefilter in the top. I took a before picture of the tank.. and will take an after in about 24 hours to see if adding this canister ontop of my wet dry makes a difference.
